Recently, the residents of the Township changed the name from Birmingham to Chadds Ford. The community encompasses 8.7 square miles and has a population of nearly 3,500. It is located just 28 miles from Philadelphia in Southwest Delaware County. Chadds Ford is the home to Brandywine Battlefield State Park, one of the most historic revolutionary war battlefields in the nation. It was the site of one of the bloodiest and fiercest battles of the war. Chadds Ford is known as a great place to live and raise a family. The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District is recognized as one of the best in the country.
